hello all

i am a non code writing happy n800 user who wants to keep being an "end user" and have been eagerly following the MER project and have my NIT dual bootable with MER sitting on my external card.

i understand that it may be some time before we have to worry about OS2008 going away.....but

i wonder if there is a way to put the reflash process on my computer? or a CD or a usb flashdrive? and also have some of the more common apps on it

this way if OS2008 and the repositories online for apps go away, that we can still reflash our NIT's and keep them useful until the hardware breaks down.

i dont know if that would take a separate program that makes the n8*0 think it is connecting to maemo to reflash and get the programs.

thanks in advance to all you programmers and hackers that keep my little n800 going.

ps- would anyone happen to know why KNIPS camera stopped working on my n800 after it updated last week?

the camera is working in the camera program and gpscamera but no longer gets an image in KNIPS

Use the Backup utility in the PB program
in Console Tools by Penguinbait.

It can save your OS including your setup and apps.
E.g. to an attached USB stick.
