Apparently Sprint is the first one
Just saw the ad for it, not sure if it's misleading or not since I don't know any handsets that can cope with 4G?

http://sprint.com/4g

Their slogan was something like the first and only wireless 4G network from a national carrier.

US residents can sue them for misleading ad I suppose

Ad: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ImAD8BOBOhw not the one I saw, I'll look for that one.

I believe Sprint is pushing a mobile broadband router or whatever. No handsets yet (from them). They're using WiMax, I think there are a few devices that may or may not work on their network (they probably wouldn't let you in any case).

Uh, Sprint rolled out the first part of their 4g network last year. It's still not nationwide, but it is in almost every single major metro in the nation. That's why I was laughing so hard at CES this year. AT&T are going at each other's throats and completely ignoring Sprint who's right now currently kicking both their ***'s to the curb.

They have had 4G for a while, since they were a major investor in ClearWire WiMax and actually gave them the wireless spectrum they owned to roll out WiMax they just piggy back on their 4G and call it sprint. They don't have any actual phones yet but the HTC supersonic should be hitting in June/July.

No -- The fact is that they have a 4G network. My desktop is hooked up to it right now (via a router). I'll even give it my personal endorsement since it is the first service I've seen that delivers AS-ADVERTISED speeds.

Here's what I'm getting for $40/mo.:
