I haven't heard of this specifically for FeedingIt before. But if you have a way to reproduce it consistently, let me know.

slocan,

I have a question and a suggestion. First the question.

When I archive an item in an RSS feed, how do I remove the archived article? The only method I have found so far to remove an archived article is to delete the entire archived articles listing.

Now onto the suggestion. Have you heard of ReadItLater? The developer of ReadItLater has an API that allows you to hook into his service, so you could consider adding ReadItLater functionality to feedingit if it's possible to integrate his API into the program.

The articles should expire and remove themselves after a certain number of hours (time set in the Preferences menu, by default 24 hours) like in all the other feeds.

I had never heard of it before, looks like a nice service. It might be a way to rework the Archived Articles section in the longer term.

New version in extras-devel: 0.5.1-0, but mostly for advanced users, this is a fairly untested version.
Before upgrading, please export your feed list to keep as backup.
During the upgrade, read/unread tracking will be reset for all articles (everything to unread).

To enable the Webkit features, you need to manually install:
https://garage.maemo.org/frs/downloa....2-2_armel.deb
(side note, the autobuilder fails to build this for the i386 target, which is why it's not in extras-devel as it should, I'm still trying to figure out why).

Main changes:
- More responsive over-all, in particular when having lots of feeds (much lower memory footprint, and fewer writing to disk)
- When Python-Webkit is installed, you can use a Webkit based widget to read articles (black on white, easier clicking on links, better rendering of pages...)
- When Python-Webkit is installed, caching of images for Archived Articles is enabled, for better offline reading

hey tested the new version 5.1, and feels alot faster then previous, however i now have 2 new problems.

First of all, FeedingIt no longer recognizes the characters øæåØÆÅ, instead they are replaced with weird symbols.

And Second, switching between articles (in portrait) by sweeping your finger left from right or right from left, dosen't work correctly. Its feels like not all the screen recognizes the sweeping gesture.

I experienced this, too. It looks as if the widget is not UTF8 capable. Maybe a new widget has been introduced?

I experienced this, too. However if the sweep is long enough it works, but looks not very smooth (meaning it does a rather hard transition) leading to a worse user experience than before.

- I did reduce the sensitivity of the swipe, because it was triggered too often accidentally before. So, the gesture has to be a bit longer (about 30 pixels). Maybe it's too unsensitive now.

- I'm guessing this is without the extra .deb installed that you're having issues with some characters? I'll check it out tonight.

Yes, this is without the python-webkit based .deb file.

Minor/easy feature request.

This is my favorite reader of all, but is there some way to show unread articles using the "system" color, or a user preference for the color of unread/read feeds. In other words, going from unread-bold-white to read-normal-white is okay, but is still a bit hard to see.
