Perhaps try installing Easy Debian (search the forums)?

It seems to give you a complete environment at the CLI. But don't quote me on that.

1. download ARMEL binary diff for ARMEL version, for exam - http://www.filewatcher.com/m/diff_2....86658.0.0.html

2. extract files from it by
dpkg -x diff_2.8.1-12_armel.deb

3. copy 'diff' binary to your preferable directory - /usr/bin or /home/user/bin (latest requires an update to PATH environment variable).

Unfortunately, you can't install 'diff' package on Maemo5 because it contradicts with busybox - it also has 'cmp' commands which is included in busybox.

BTW, package also has locale messages file and you can move it to right place too (see unpacked directory structure for an exact location) but 'diff' works w/out it.

Sorry, I can't find diffmo in Maemo Extras-Devel. Please let me know where I can locate it.
Thanks.

It probably won't show up in App Manager. Try running in X Terminal (you'll need rootsh installed):
Code:
sudo gainroot
apt-get install diffmo

I gained access to rootsh and then did the apt-get install diffmo. I got the following message:
: Couldn't find package diffmo
Please advise.

The problem with diffmo is actually a name. Some good applications use a name 'diff' and 'diff3' but not diffmo.

However, it is easy to make a symlink to it after you install diffmo.
