Hello all,

I just got my N900 2 weeks ago. Everything was working great. I made an update of software and now sometimes (frankly speeking many times a day) when somebody is calling nothing is displayed on the screen. It is completely blank. If I take it up, it may show the caller. Also after completing the call if I take the phone from the ear the screen is blank. Is it normal? Do you have the same problems or maybe should I send it to Nokia?

Thanks for help.

Jacek

Sounds like something maybe wrong with the proximity sensor. Are you sure nothing is covering it as when it is covered it locks the display so as not to interact during a call with your face.

Proximity sensor turns screen off to save battery?

Nothing is covering the panel.
The proximity sensor should not turn the screen of from battery point of view. It should only switch of the panel to avoid touching while phonening. I think the phone is NOK.

i had the same problem with my phone and i realised it was dueto the fact that i purchase some cheap screen protector that was slightly thick and once added the phone detects it and screen goes bklack out
