I wouldn't use it for typing too much, so the 2-piece stand would probably be a better bet (for me personally)

Good luck with the designing, and thanks on behalf of the n900 community.

Definitely interested in seeing your sketches. I had the idea to make a kind of "universal holder" which would be an N900 grip with a 1/4 20 nut on the back or a grid of holes, so you could mount it to anything.

For an on-the-go stand, I use http://www.gogostand.com/ for my Droid. Wouldn't that also work for the N900, or is it too heavy or thick or something? It folds down to a credit-card form factor that I stow in my wallet. Seems like it holds my N800 just fine too. **shrug**

Wow, that's cheap and looks reasonably usable.

that'd be cool to keep in your wallet (if it works with N900)
and use the fake N900 stand at home

A response today from dean@gogostand.com: "Yes the N900 will work on the gogostand. It's actually quite similar to the Droid. I have 3 angles that you can adjust the tilt of the stand so if it tends to fall backwards, you just adjust it to a closer notch."

Hey fake, got my stands (~10 days to UK) and like all great solutions, they're simple and elegant! Affecting my work though, keep looking at and using my N900 on my desk instead of working ;o) Cheers!
