Can you explain why do you want to access internet thru your PC ?

because if you buy a wifi router or an access point, your problem is immediately solved.

Note: If you can afford N900, I am sure you will be able to buy a router or access point :-)

that probably isnt possible because its pretty much useless to most people. Why use your computers connection when you have so many options from your phone? like tirtawn said, it would be eaiser if you bought a wireless router because then you wouldnt need the cables either. How is your computer connected to the internet? dial-up?

I've been researching the same thing, the thread you quote is pretty much where i got all my information from, the best solution i found is this website

http://pc-connectivity.garage.maemo.org/

go to the documentation section and they explain how to usb networking using this program.

Well if its windows....you might be able to do internet sharing.
Look here
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/u...tup/adhoc.mspx
You would have to set up the n900 manually, but its possible if your computer has a wireless card.

Gonna raise the dead.

Using PC-Connectivity app mentioned here earlier,
I am able to give my phone an IP, and I have ping to www.google.com from the phone terminal! this means the phone has internet via USB.
but when i try to use the microB browser, it asks for an internet connection, it doesn't know it already has it!

Sigh (:

How do I make it see that it's ok, it can work!?
