from what i've seen on YouTube of people reviewing and showing the n900 YouTube and video streaming from the reviews looks really laggy and glitchy.

Is it really like that??

The odd person that I've seen has reported some lag and stuff, but on mine it works perfectly.
Of course, if you're on a slow connection it can be annoying, but that's youtube for you.

In my experience using wifi the videos sometimes lag behind the audio and freeze for a few seconds before catching back up. It's definitely not as good as a normal desktop browser so I wouldn't get the phone if this is a huge factor for you.

It's nowhere near a desktop's performance. From the time it loads the applet and draws it on screen and its response time during use, it can add noticeable wait.

Yeah. Beware of the marketing hype of your telco. Mine claims 'up to 7.2 Mbps', but I'll be happy to get past 1.5 Mbps as measured by www.speedtest.net... My highest ever reading is 4.5 more or less.

Then I might suggest you have a problem. I had to re-flash my N900 and now even on slow connections youtube videos are fine. It can be a bit hessitant for the first few seconds then runs smoothly.

Flash is as good as it gets so far. Yes utube videos are laggy but they are fine once it loads. Big flash apps are laggy yes but they work. it’s not nokia is its Adode’s fault This is the whole reason why Steve jobs won’t put flash on the iphones or ipad’s because it’s not ready, have a look yourself. Flash needs to get better but it’s not nokia’s fault .It will get better once flash 10 comes or 11. Flash runs on a lot of backwards support so it can run the very early flash websites/apps.

Just like direct x 10 which stopped support for direct x 9 and earlier versions. Directx games vastly improved and GPU resources plummeted. Back-end is supported through an emulator running Directx 9.0L which is the emulator. So flash needs to stop back end support and get better to be better.

I bet my money when Steve jobs introduces flash for mobile device’s is when nokia would have better flash on their phones. We are the beta testers for apple lol bastard, and they take all the glory but you know what! I have learnt and accepted that I love being a beta tester and having buggy software. If I didn’t then why am I still buying nokia?? I play with my n900 all the time and it never gets boring. I got bored of my free ipod touch when it first came out within 2 weeks. Everything was done and too easy for me to enjoy it and play with. I love manual and not auto.
