in another thread someone asked about greek subtitle and another one told him how. plz anybody help with arabic subtitles from an external file like (.srt)

if you type 'subtitles' in the search box on the top right of the maemo.org website there is a thread about how to add subtitle files to media player.

it's not about to load a subtitle i did load it but arabic subtitle doesn't appear as arabic. there are strange letters

In the Settings (the general one) you have an Extras section with Subtitles settings. Change the encoding to one that fits your needs.

excuse me but which setting
u said the general one i went there but i didn't find any exras any other words u could help me with or any steps may i missed ?

Sorry, I thought you already have this, there is an application which enables subtitles support in Media Player, it is called exactly like that Subtitles Support. It is maintained by Roman Moravcik and it has now reached version 0.1.2009.47-1+0m5-5 (I think is in Extras-Devel). Install this and you will have the Subtitles setting in the Settings panel.

P.S. Which reminds me, to thank the guy, he's done a great job.

thanx alot but i added the exras-devel catalogue and don't find this program could u give me a link for it
