Dear folks,

is there an application that enables you to develop an app within the device? I remember a small online QT designer, but I can't find the website.
Wouldn't it be interesting to have an application that lets you create an app directly within the e.g. N900 with a couple of pre-defined buttons and functions?

A slightly different approach is an app that teaches how to create an app. Some 'learn-how-to' app for non programming experts.

Any ideas?

Thanks for contributions.

theres a number of pathways to doing this.
however there is no (as yet..) single step install process that allows apps to be developed.
i am certain that we will soon have some pathways though.

search the forums for more info about on device compilation peopele manage c and python and some even install a whole debian chroot and get full autotools compatible coding.
then of course there is qt (seemingly limited to pyqt for on device right now though)

Yes, agree with Icuk, there isn't a single pathway. It is also very heavily depended on the devices and mobile PS you use. For instance, if you use iPhone and expect to develop an object C iPhone app on iPhone devices, that would be different. However, if you want to use dynamic-languages such as Python/Ruby, that will be possible, but it depends on the dynamic-languages supports for each mobile devices.

Cheers,
