Hello

I've noticed that there are quite a few packages that seems to be "abandoned" in extra-testing, just because nobody is seeing them!

So, just help trying it out and if ok, voting for them!

Here are some of the packages:

Those are some examples of stuff I think would benefit many people. But there are others there!

Additional information on the testing/voting process:
http://wiki.maemo.org/Help_testing_software

Packages available:

Thanks

Ncalc needs 5 more votes, its a calculator, its not that hard to test.

vote here

Think of it as a test of your voting ability!!

This is a terrible state of affairs and must be fixed!

I have the "Testing" repo (can't spell "repository"!) enabled and currently have some apps installed from it.

I will make the effort and start voting straight away.

A lot of people have spent many hours of personal time compiling and "tweaking" applications so they can run on the n900.

Let's show our gratitude and start voting for stuff.

If we don't we'll get self-righteous iPhone users saying:
"Hahaha! Your application library is totally lame and sucks big hairy bums!
We have thousands and you have dozens. Although our penises are very small, we have a software collection that is very big!
No fart applications for you"

Make sure you understand the checklist before you vote

I have tried to vote for every app I install, but I'll check again...

Out of the posted, I have 7-Zip, and I voted already. Although I haven't used it a lot, it works fine. A GUI would be nice, but it works.

Please make sure you read the QA checklist before voting.

please edit this link to the first post:

because the voting is nonsense because of people who don't know what to do and give thumbs up to unstable software......

Hi there,

I'd really like to help good applications make it to extras but there is one big point that makes helping unnecessarily hard: there is no fu....g search available. Or at least I'm too dumb to use it. The only part where search is working is right here in t.m.o . And even here it is hard to find a useful thread for a special application.

The point is: I can install a bunch of packages from testing or even devel and use it and form an opinion about it but when it comes to voting or even simple feedback to the developer I'm often ending up with looking at the website and not knowing where to go and what to do.

There's a link called "Downloads" what sounds really good but as far as I've seen t there is only software from extras, no -testing and no -devel. And there is no way to go there from here.

So in short terms: when you know where to vote, you can -- when you don't know, you'll hardly get to know.

There are many other things that might get improved on this site, but especially software is some kind off hidden from the average user and you're wondering why there is so little response ....
