Hi,
I have bought a N800 (Ok, don't spam, I am a poor student, and the price was so low lol) My problem is to find a format that will enable me to convert the 'e-books' I now have into a format that can be read by the N800.
I have the prog. 'Calibre' which can do the changes,,
I tried just converting to PDF, and putting onto a Sd card, but, this does not seem to work.
Can anybody out there please advise.
many Thanks.

epub will do it.

FBreader is the reader you should use.

Also evince is quite good with pdf files and it remembers the position when you open a file again.

You might try going to MobiPocket and downloading MobiPocket Creator. It can convert PDF's to PRC files. I have had some success doing this however it is not a 100%. If Calibre isn't working then this may also not work but....it's nice to have alternatives.

FBreader is my reader of choice...works great on the N800

epub, mobi, HTML and plucker are all readable formats by FBReader. Calibre supports all of them. PDF on the N800 is unbearable since the PDF viewer does not have support for the PDF reflow tag. FWIW, I have helped a little w/ a patch that will do reflow to PDF documents in pdf2html. This should help you w/ text that are only available in PDF format.
