Hi,

I bought N900 last month and I like it a lot
But there is the battery issue, i recharge battery every 2 days with normal usage here (just few phone calls, no 3g, no auto connect to wifi or auto send/receive, Bluetooth off).
And my skype and gmail accounts are enabled with few minutes only chatting, it will connect to wifi automatically and battery life didn't handle 24hr!!!!?!

I think battery life should stay more even if i'm online for 24 hr, right?
and how can i fix the battery issue? should i returned back?
I appreciate your help,

regards,
Dana

sounds like the n900 to me.

if you have wifi turned on, its not going to last more than 24 hours.
turn it off when you dont need it.

2 days of light usage is about right, thats around the lifetime I get from my device. With wifi enabled constantly and heavier usage, my battery life drops to around a day.
I'd say your phone's fine.

Install battery-eye and gather data for couple of days and post image to linked topic. Addition to picture explain what you have done.

IMHO 2 days is quite good :| Most of people are having trouble to keep it run for whole workday.
- Do you watch videos
- Screen brightness?
- Fm-radio?

Thanks every one, i will turn it off when not needed.
I think battery is the only drawback with this great device, may be some day we wil have super batteries that can stay for one week with heavy usage

thats funny, your the first to bring up a good point about sad battery life.
Nokia reckons you get 6.3 hours talk and 11 days standby.

but I find if I use my device intensely I get about 5 hrs most days I get through 14 - 16 hours with light to moderate use.

All in all I think the problem is the user, when they get the phone they push it, install stuff and test out skype and flash video and install more stuff and watch videos and test there media servers and wright scripts in terminal and.... and then the battery dies, but if you were board with it the day you got it you wouldn't wast any battery life you may even get 2 days standby.

Hell if you just used it like a phone and terned off every function the device has you may get the advertised 11.5 days of use between charges.

yes you are doing really well with 2days usage. Mine barely last me 24hours with similar usage. Seems like you have a very good device

If I turned the wifi on and start using it, it won't even last me pass 6hours of semi-heavy usage. I don't think your device got a problem, everyone of us here got the problem
