Anyone here with a dead N900 thats willing to see if they can remove/alter the internal casing to squeeze the "bp 4l" 1500mAh battery in?

bp-4l is the same thickness, but wider and slighly taller.
Look at the battery compartment and you can clearly see that it could be widened to fit the bp-4l (take up the stylus space). But its not too clear if there is an dead space below to make it slightly taller.

Has anyone tore down to see clearly if there is dead space at the bottom (e.g cut out some plastic or rearrange any 'mic' or whatever that might be in the way).

You'd have to bend the metal battery holding, but its the N900 is dead anyway....

I'm doubting youll see anyone wiling to do this until after the warranty period, but who knows.

there is a video on you tube of someone taking the n900 apart.... pause that at the right moment and ur questions will be answered. the area to the bottom and top side seem to be antenna and wifi?? just a guess.... stylus edge seems to be only area for a bit of nip n tuck!
