You need to ask FPSEce authors: http://www.fpsece.net/

Yep, answer to my question, "no point for porting this to different os only for one device (n900) which will not even be able to handle it.."

If you define "running ~well" as running at the same speed as it ran on the original PS1 hardware, then none.

However, please remember that this release is not utilizing the 3D graphics acceleration of the N900 yet, so to see the speeds that we are with some titles (mostly older PS1 titles) is VERY encouraging.

In it's current form, I've gotten speeds that make the following games playable on the N900 (note that my definition of playable may vary from yours):

Tekken2
Warhawk
X-Com: UFO Defense
Pepsiman (mega props that this works since I haven't had a working Japanese PS1 to play it on for YEARS....)
Dragon Ball Z: Legends
007 Racing

Please note that not only do the games run slower without GPU support, but it also taxes the CPU much more which really kills your battery life. I went through about 75% of my charge just in the first level of Warhawk.

Basically this is a proof of concept and a work in progress. Feel free to play around with it now if you dare, but keep your expectations in line and we'll all keep our fingers crossed for the OpenGL ES 2 support in the future.

As I understand it, PCSX and psx4all are two different linux community Playstation emulators, with PCSX being ported here to Maemo5 as PCSX-M.

The latest development involves a component of PSX4all being successfully incorporated into PCSX-M. Does that make sense?

The best way to get PS1 games onto your N900 to use with PCSX-M is to digg up your old PS1 disc and rip it to .iso, then copy that .iso file to your N900.

That's a bit arrogant and uniformed response imho. Maybe they're great for making that emulator, but totally stupid not knowing anything about the N900. We don't need guys like them.

Unfortunately this attitude is common in ngemu community.

[OT]

You know that schtruck and LDchen are the developers of FpseCE and not the moderators of the FpseCE-forum, quoted before ?

Here's the link to the thread, if you're interested.

I can't recognize any arrogance.
You should know that the two guys developped this emu over the last 8 years !!
People are using it and they gave only small donations, but the two are developped it for fun.

And why should they spend time for porting their emu for the only Maemo 5 device on the market ?
