ok. so when i used my file manager, i was not able to see a "home" folder.


how do we get to the home folder?

The basic file manager that comes with the phone wont be able to see this. You need to use midnight command or similar, also you'll need root privilages to change the files... I think.

anyone know how we would do this with x-terminal?

if we need access to root, then sudo gainroot...?

so i was able to create and transfer sounds as mp3 to my handset, named open/close.

then in Midnight commander, was able to get both file folders and tried to copy over.

this was what i ran into.




how do i unlock the rights.


i tried sudo gainroot, but no go....and then tried to launch the xterminal, and it never launched.

Ok, I can see that there is some real interest in that

To all those not familiar with terminal, midnight commander etc. I will tomorrow create a version with simple configuration file that can be edited (should be easier than copying files around). Then, sometime next week I will try to add graphical settings applet, just as shortcutd has.
Please be patient and careful when playing with terminal and root privileges.

a slight problem i found last night.

if i switch my phone to my "silent" profile the keyboard sounds still happen!

true. that is a problem. volume for slide sounds controlled by the slider volume

My production box gave up on me today, so there will be no promised configuration file tonight. Sorry for that.
