I just received my Nokia N900 on March 18. I bought a screen protector and installed it right out of the box. I shopped for about 2 months and finally decided for this Mobile Computer/Smart Phone because of the amazing hardware features and its flexibility due to OS system. However, I've found a few flaws that have made me think of returning it and get something else.

With the N900 I wanted to replace the following:

3 Year old Samsung Blackjack i608 (FAIL - This phone has MMS and IM support without Internet connection needed)
3 year old Gateway M250 Laptop. (FAIL - TWO major issues: Flash Video and Streaming Audio via Internet)
4 Year old Sony Cybershot camera (PASS - Good Picture and Video)
4 Year old iAudio Multimedia Player (MP3,WMA, FM and Voice Recorder) (PASS - A couple of Apps needed but work very well).

And I wanted to acquire the following:

GPS (CHECK)
SIP Phone Capabilities (CHECK)
True Mobile Computer Capabilities (Fail)

May be my expectation was to high, but I read several reviews and decided for the N900. I really want to love the N900 BUT these two issues had got to me:

YOUTUBE freezes on ANY video after 10% streamed. Also, does the same at WatchMoviesOnline[dot]com. But it works well in tu.tv

Internet Radio that comes built-in the Media Player plays only about 20 seconds of ANY song and then freezes.

My internet connection (15Mbps download 5Mbps upload)

Do I have a bad unit? How can I fix these two issues?

I hope with MeeGo all these issues are resolved, including MMS and Flash 10 support. Thank you for reading.

For me Youtube works perfect, so does Internet Radio, so either I would blame your internet connection or your N900.

I've installed a few applications since I got the N900...should I flash it and try Youtube and Internet Radio again in a clean system?

I can watch entire shows on Youtube as well as stream internet radio for hours at a time, you might have a problem with your connection.

Your connection is too slow to support YouTube or internet radio. The N900 is likely ok. With 3G I normally get anywhere from 60mbps or more down, 25-35mbps up and have no problems with YouTube or internet radio.

From my experience, the flash on the n900 is great.. Youtube videos load quick using wifi and vodafone connection, other video sites load quick also esp. when I'm watching family guy it loads with no problems..

The only negative thing is the sites that need flash 10 like tvcatchup.com but n900 is suppose to get that update soon

I have an Optimum connection at 15Mbps download and 5Mbps upload as stated. That is the minimum I get on my computer. I'll try Youtube and Internet Radio on my N900 at school to see if that changes. Thanks for the reply.

don't watch it on normal screen. make it full screen then it will be smooth. Flash 9.4 doesn't support hardware acceleration. Flash 10 is coming soon to N900 which will help solved the stuttering in small windows issue.

Nothing is wrong with your device. So just calm down and take it easy.

I'll try to see if my WiFi is the problem. Where do you watch Family Guy? mind providing a link? I watch many shows on hulu.com on my PC but as we known Flash 10 is not yet supported. Thank you!
