I tried to reflash it with Win7, Vista and Ubuntu with no luck....I had to sneak and use my wife's Windows XP laptop (yes, she's old fashioned) and it worked like a charm. I also had the UK version but now have the global. Maybe if you can get a hold of Windows XP will do the trick.

I flashed my n900 with Win7 without problems. You must be using 64bit

Tried loads with vista with nada sucess!
