Calvin, great app. I was ready to sell my n900 because of the battery life, now I can get a whole workday off the phone (eveny with my non-nokia/cheap 2nd battery).
Thanks. I will implement this feature in the next version.

Yes exactly.

If your connection is reset every time you wanted it to be, then the value is correct. If not, you have to increase or decrease the value, that's simple

Notifications don't wake the phone up if the screen is off. You'll only see them when your screen is active.

I would like some suggestions on how I should configure my device.
MFE is set always on during the days (from 7-18) and after that MFE is set to sync only manually.

I just reset my dataplan and set everything up like a weekday. when a mail arrived it was synchronized as it should.
When the criterias for disconnect was fullfilled it got disconnected correctly. After that no more mail/calendar is synced.

I have monitored the bandwith used, and the device consumes 0 bytes in 10 minutes with sync set to always on.
But I guess that there would be more bandwith used when moving and the device switches to another cell in the network.

Any advice how I should configure?
I didn't understand what your question was. Are you asking why the mail/calendar isn't synced ?

If yes => That's a MFE problem since I don't know when. You have the set the "Search Interval" value in your Internet Connections Settings.

As I said, it's really strange, because a month ago, MFE made correctly the phone connect to the Internet.

Is it possible to switch from 2G to 3G if you want to use the modem connection and back to 2G after auto-disconnect?
Because you can save a lot of battery life while in 2G mode.

Hello there,

I'm having a significant problem with this great Software ... it does not work on my N900 (anymore).

Once I installed it yesterday it was working as I can see in the log file. I didn't notice yesterday because I was not aware that wlan causes quite a lot of idle traffic. So it only closed my gprs connection sometimes.

After playing around with the Idle Time and Traffic AutoDisconnect stopped working at all. The log file is not updated ever since (Yesterday 22 pm ...) and even redownloading and reinstalling it a couple of time didn't help.

I can choose whatever time and idle traffic i want, enable it with and without notification, won't work anymore.

I realy don't know what to do as I would really like to use AutoDisconnect.

Maybe you guys would help me out.

Thanks a lot in advance

Hi there!

Uninstall the app. Then check if the following elements still exists, if not remove them :

- directory /opt/autodisconnect
- file /etc/network/if-up.d/99_autodisconnect
- file /var/log/autodisconnect.log

Paste here the result of the following command :

Code:
gconftool-2 -R /apps/autodisconnect

If I have time, why not ? Thanks for the idea.
