Hi. I have been trying to set up my new kingston 1gig memory card on my 770 so that I can boot from it using the following tutorial:

I have had a few roadblocks along the way, but members from this forum have been very helpful so far, and now I have found a new roadblock at the mounting step after installing the initfs_flasher.
I answered all the questions and rebooted. I succesfully ran this line insmod /mnt/initfs/lib/modules/current/ext2.ko , but when trying to mount (mount /dev/mmcblk0p2 /opt ), I get one of the following errors. Either:
mount: Mounting /dev/mmcblk0p2 on /opt failed: No such file or directory
Or, if I type: mount /dev/mmcblk0p2 without the /opt option, I get :
Can't find /dev/mmcblk0p2 in /etc/fstab.

I am soooo close to finishing this. Please help me get over this hump !!!!
Should I format the memory card and try all the steps again from the begining ???, or is there an easy solution to this ???
Also, is there a tutorial for the xterm commands ??. I would love to know the commands for exploring folders and files, and deleting files, looking at the directory structure of a folder, etc.

Thanks for the info. Sorry about the multiple posts. I was not sure where this belonged since I was asking about two different things in the same post, the mount error and the xterm commands.

Also you may want to state what OS you are running, 2006 or 2007 as the 2007 requires a couple of additional commands, namely the insmod /mnt/initfs/lib/modules/current/mbcache.ko command, which has to be run before insmod /mnt/initfs/lib/modules/current/ext2.ko

Yes, sorry about that. I am running the 2006 OS, so I did not need to add the above command first before the insmod command , correct??

I want to create a folder with X Term, can U help me that? please I need command X terminal..

The command is "mkdir".

For help on any linux command, do a google for "man <command>" eg http://www.google.com/search?q=man%20mkdir

"man" in this case stands for "manual"

btw. I just remembered how much PITA it is to memorize commands in any shell. You are staring black screen and googling (with your second computer of course) and people are telling you to read manual. It´s good advice but to be able to use manual you have to _memorize_ most of the commands and to keep them in your memory you have to use them daily or at least for me this is the case. Add in the mix bad memory and you are in big trouble. One thing that also troubles me is that normally I skip all the option descriptions and search for _examples_ because those are to ones from what I learn immediately. Now I must stop because all the bad memorize start to creep in...

I find it's similar to learning a foreign language. Practice daily and you don't even have to think about it.

And besides, you could always do this...
