Ok, so I've followed the instructions as set out here : http://blog.pixelpipe.com/2009/12/28...via-pixelpipe/, however, I still can't get this to work??

I've set up Pixelpipe as a contact and also alloweded Pixelpipe access to my Facebook account but still can't seem to get this to work?

Can someone post on here if they have managed to update their Facebook status by using IM through the 'Conversations' on their N900....?!

I have the twitter plugin installed and my Facebook account set up to update my status from my tweets. To tweet (and therefore automatically update Fb) I connect to twitter through the availability dialogue, tap save, go back into the availability dialogue, change my status message and tap save again. Job jobbed. The reason for going into the dialogue twice is the plugin doesnmt seem to tweet the status that's there on connection, doubtless to avoid putting the same tweet out time and again. The twitter plugin does seem to go through the battery like billy-o, so I have a status set up for all IM other than twitter to be online and use that in preference to the default all IM online unless I want to tweet/update my Fb status.

There is also a Facebook plugin which I believe can update your Fb status directly, but it is buggy and results in demerging of contacts, so I'm avoiding it for now and using the builtin Jabber capabilities for Fb chat.

.......where do I get the Twitter plug in from because when I open up Settings, and then go to 'Voip & IM' and click on 'New', Twitter does NOT come up as an option??

......I've found the plug in and installed it but for some reason, when I enter my details(from the Voip & IM Settings), it just sits there doing nothing - it doesn't actually sign me in....??

I find it much easier to just send an email to update my Facebook Status. Pixel is just another service which i think is pointless.
Key things i want to do with my facebook is status updates and photo uploading.
With the Facebook installed as Sharing Service i can do photo uploads, and email i can do update status. If you have Facebook notifications going through to your email on the Nokia N900 (nokia messaging) then you can also Reply to Comments via email.

.....yea, I suppose that's one way of doing it! Just by chance, in the 'extras-dev' repo, I've stumbled on an app called 'mStatus' which installs an extra tab when you click on battery icon at the top. Once this is set up, you can just update your status to whichever social site you've set it up with, just by entering your status update and hitting refresh.....!!!

You can always use mStatus.

It updates to Ping.fm, which can update a huge amount of networks, including Facebook & twitter.

An alternative way is too set Facebook moible up, then you are able to text Facebook your status updates.

Just noticed while typing this reply, deans6571 has mentioned mStatus too!

also, if you have the twitter plugin installed or use witter or something on the device, you can use the slectivetwitter facebook app and whenever you post something to twitter with #fb it will update your facebook status.

pretty easy

When you IM pixelpipe you need to use some twitter like @ tag.

E.g.

@Facebook I am at school

This results in your Facebook status being "I am at school"

For twitter you use @twitter

just so you know, i had to use google IM to get it to work. The jabber via facebook didn't work.
