Confirmed. It is not that grave as it seems but a few ticks higher sensitivity would make the user experience much better.

- clicking links in the article opens them in FeedingIt, I would like them to open them in the browser (make this configurable maybe?)
I was rather happy to have the webkit article view as it improves usability a lot. Opening it in a browser as a default would spoil that. An option would be ok, but not default.

Another thing I would like to see: Favicons for feeds. Can also be an option, but I'd be rather excited to have those.

@ofels

I agree, maybe just a tick or two sensitvity. But I really do think the sensitivity is almost there. Where I find that I could use a bit more sensitivity is in the side swipes. Up and down seem good now.

Thanks for the feedback!
So, feeds from wordpress.com contain a <media:title> tag which seems to confuse the library i'm using, and the feed listing does not display the right title.

In regards to swipe sensitivity, I might go back to the previous method (I changed it because I found it too sensitive ). I also think it's not quite as sensitive while the article is not fully loaded and the layout finished.

In regards to the external browser, I like the way it opens in webkit, with the option in the menu to open the original article in the external browser.

In regards to wide articles, you first need to enable horizontal scrolling in the menu, which disables swipes and enables you to scroll any way you want. Although jcompagner's idea is nice, it might be tough to technically do right. But maybe something in between, we'll see.

As for the orientation, it is locked when you open the keyboard. This means that if you are in landscape, it will stay in landscape. But if you open it while in portrait, you'll stay in portrait mode. This is by design.

.
ahh stupid me..
I never saw that menu option of horizontal scrolling.

Also opening in a browser is there also already so thats also not a problem.

I do think now that this bug really should be fixed by nokia and not say now we dont want this, its completely inconsistent:

thats why i never really tried that menu! i didnt see the drop down arrow!

A couple of suggestions/comments:

1) Swipe sensitivity: I find the current setting too slow and the previous setting too fast. Something in between would be great.
2) Feed rendering: Are the feeds rendered by Webkit in the latest version? I remember several revision earlier there was an option to choose to use Webkit or not. I like Webkit mainly because the font size is adjustable. However, in the latest release the option is gone and the text is again a bit small. It would be great if we could have such option, or maybe support for volume key zooming.

Thanks for the hard work!

@sony: The option for the article font size is still there, it has just been involuntarily "hidden" . I'll push an update tonight for that and the media:title bug.

Pretty sure this is a bug?

In the article list, if the title has an &, it displays as "&amp;" instead of just "&." Also itlalics are "<em> ...normal text... </em>."

But both are okay in the article itself.

Great App, replaces the built in RSS reader prefectly and has more functionality. I also love the imaging caching, this is great and now lets me sync up the feeds before jumping on the subway.

I am however not a huge fan of the new left and right swipes though, it does not feel like a swipe anymore. Its more like stubbing your finger into the screen to get it to go left and right, it works perfectly but takes a bit of getting used to.

Is there a way to make the swipe user configurable - length, speed etc?

0.5.4-3 in extras-devel. I tweaked the swipe gesture, which I think feels better now (does it?), re-enabled the article font size setting, made read feeds a little more obvious, and it now handles <em> and & tags better.

Wow, finally it comes with "cache image".

I have to say FeedingIt is easily the most used community supported application on my N900.

Great job. Thanks!
