It's always a good idea to check your Application Manager logs (Tools -> Log...) as it might give a clue.

Thanks Millhouse, I was going nuts with Application Manager being unable to refresh and update Installable Applications.

Checking the Tools/Log revealed a corrupt line which had the effect of blocking the process.

So, can anyone explain how to resolve this problem?

Ok, I go into application manager and select 'refresh application list' and get the message 'Unable to refresh list. Last refreshed list is shown'.

The last refreshed list is dated 17/04/2007.

The log shows the following:

W:Couldn't stat source package list http://idefix.go-nix.ca Packages (var/lib/apt/lists/idefix.go-nix.ca_nix_gaim-dist_Packages) - stat (2 No such file or directory)
W:You may want to run apt-get update to correct these problems
WGPG error: http://catagogue.tableteer.nokia.com bora release: the following signatures were invalid: BADSIG CBFC2BECC6903E72 Nokia Internet Tablet Archive Automatic Signing Key etc etc

This all really means very little to me?!?!?

Any ideas?

The WGPG error is not critical. What you need to do is to go into the program catalogue, select the idefix repo, and tick 'disable' (or is it 'deactivate'? I use my national language settings). Then retry.
