Hi, so recently i'm in a situation where my N900 could help me (or you guys) ... my laptop died, so i wanted to take out the hard drive, and use it as a portable HD or something, but i don't have anything to read it, i was wondering if it's possible to use a female/male usb to usb cable, and connect the N900 to the usb, and with some kind of software make the N900 read it instead of the device reading the N900, something that could work with pen-drives and other mass storage devices?... i mean... to view the files on the N900 :P is it possible or just dumb?

They are working on trying to get it work some day.

Not yet possible and maybe never, but it looks promising what I've read on that thread.

edit:
Or maybe it is possible already for mass storage devices. See this post:

There may be workarounds like a third device that acts as the host to the drive and the N900 but the main thing is the N900 can not act as the USB host, this is a hardware limitation and thus can't be fixed with software.
