Ok, 15 years old, got my n900 after a contract renewal, £30 p/m 18 months on t mobile.

This is basically my experiences

Its bloody BRILLIANT!

its so fast, fluent and all open source!!

Installed some emulators and some rom backups, and they work flawlessley.

Physical keyboard is a dream, small fingers help, i can type faster than my PC keyboard on it! only gripes with that is the symbols can be a bit tricky sometimes.

Video playback, just dragged a random file from my pc on it, played flawlessly

audio playback, me being a tool ripped all my cds with itunes, the n900 played these but was very slow at loading them and indexing, but its got used to it now and its ok.

gaming wise i love the emulators and stuff, and bounce is fun, as well as openarena and corsixth

youtube plays flawlessly in the browser and in ZouTube.

i couldnt get irreco working, not a big problem

so far i am supoer happy with my new internet tablet with gsn modem.

a big part of the decision was you guys, having a huge community helps when you run into problems or need help!

thanks guys!

I couldn't initially either - the IR port on my device was disabled by default. I followed the guide here:

http://theunlockr.com/2009/11/22/how...-on-your-n900/

and that did the trick

Glad you like the N900. I love mine also.

Try installing SiB and mplayer on it if you play a lot of videos. It makes the N900 a much better video player on the go with nice keyboard shortcuts.

Couldn't agree more with OP. I'm glad I chose this device over the HD2.
