that is why the sound is almost immediate when closing, but mo opening.

Yes, there is nothing really interesting happing when the power button is pressed once to bring up lock slider (ok, there is something, but it has random delay from the button press). Having any sound attached here would require changing system code, and this is a bit too much hacking than I have time for right now.

great app, love the new GUI, any chance we could get a volume setting?? sounds are too loud, and making quiet mp3s can be annoying

@eagle76000, it seems that there is a problem with Qt versions (used by the application (4.6) and installed in your system (4.5)).
I will need to change my development environment anyway to be compliant with PR1.2, then the problem should disappear.
If you are up for experimenting (AND KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING) you can try installing qt4-mamemo5 manually. But I would suggest waiting for a few days, this should be fixed.

@f2thak, I will take a look, but I'm afraid that Phonon does not allow per-application sound settings.

hopbeat i just updated to newest version and it does not work, when i try to open lockdaemon it sits there for few seconds and closes it self, and goes back to desktop

@amorek13, yes, the problem is with PR1.2 compatibility. For now: unless 1.2 is out, lockdaemon from repos will not work. I can post the previous version here (it sucks, but that's the way it is).
