I'm not sure how many of you bought an iPhone, but I'll admit it...I did, and I love it so far! Anyways, this is not to start an iPhone vs. N800 flame war, but I wanted to mention this headset that I picked up at an AT&T Store the other day:
It's the Shure I2c-m stereo headset made for the iPhone and its three-ring, 3.5" plug that is recessed into the phone. Turns out our N800's use the same exact setup, so I tried it and it works great, with one small detail - If the plug is pushed in all the way on the N800 the sound is very low, but pulling out less than 1mm or so brings in the stereo sound loud and clear.
I also tried the headset function in Skype, and it worked fine with the inline microphone. Overall, it's a big improvement in sound quality and comfort, since it has the rubber in-ear tips that fit snugly, instead of the those flat buds that never stay in right. One thing it doesn't have is an in-line answer button, but I can do without it for now.
For anyone looking for an upgraded headset for the N800 (and it probably works on the 770 also), check these out...
