Got a question from a guy on an another forum and wants to know the following hes looking for a new phone and told him about the n900

;;hey mate,

with the N900. do you know if the MSN app has the ability to log the chats? which then you can download to a PC? or can you like email the whole IM convo log off before you close it?

Is there an MSN app? i use the MSN (Haze) which uses the built in IM functionality.

conversation threads by default are saved for each contact. So technically speaking you can copy and paste whole convo's into a file and then save it or send it to a PC.

Not sure if there is an "app" that log's the chat into a .txt file.

No there is no native msn app only amsn which is still crappy from what i seen, all he wants to do is be able to save the convos and email them to himself.. Is this at all possible being a linux phone...

how would u copy and past a whole convo though i just tried crlt A to highlight the copy it doesnt highlight anything

The N900 saves all the conversations (IM, SMS, whatever), and you can review them later in the Conversations application.

There are 3 choices of IM plugins for MSN: Butterfly, Haze and Pecan.
Haze works well for most of the people.
