hey guys, i am in a bit of a pickle at the moment, my n900 was working perfect for the last 2 months and all of a sudden on Sunday it just decided to stop making phone calls, the simcard reception bars have dissapeared completely as have the service providers name! I tried searching for a network manually and its as if the phone cannot recognise the sim card. Tried a different sim card from a different network ant it wont recognise that either. I didnt update or install any software at the weekend so im lead to think this may be a hardware issue. Ay help would be greatly appreciated as its just a tablet p.c. at the moment.

Didn't you, by any chance, install the Phone mode / Tablet mode switcher and switch to Tablet mode?

ya i have tried changing that round but it just stays the same! this seems like a new enough issue on maemo talk when i searched for it, which leads me to believe it is a hardware issue, i will try flashing the device once its fully charged and go from there, fingers crossed!
