My favorite text editor is "leafpad". So just type:
Code:
leafpad /etc/apt/sources.list

taptap,

It is important that you edit it as root, so use the red swirl icon or run "sudo debian" from a terminal.

Hey qole really nice app this one

I have one question though. After i did the latest opdate all of the programs in the lxde dissapeard. Reinstalled the easy debian and downloaded a new image and installed that and this made it work again exept for one thing the danish (scandinavian) keyboard layout do not work anymore and without that the open off. wont really be of any use to me. We have extra letters in the alphabet (זרו) How to fix that

e: Have tried to set language to danish in open off. did not work. I've pushed the lxde keyboard fix and it starts up and i can press an ok button but that changes nothing

You could try using Synaptic and changing the sources there.
Tools > Repositories. There you can tick which distributions to use.

Afterwards do a refresh or apt-get update

Have you followed all the instructions in http://wiki.maemo.org/Easy_Debian#Localization ? If so, what precisely is happening?

Has anyone had any success installing gcc?

I'm trying to get citrix receiver installed and have downloaded the armel-deb package from citrix. One of the pre-requisites is to install openmotif and as there is no deb package available I need to complie from source.

Every time I try to install gcc I get errors:

Code:
[root@deb-m5v3b: /]sudo apt-get install gcc
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies.
gcc: Depends: gcc-4.3 (>= 4.3.2-1) but it is not going to be installed
Recommends: libc6-dev but it is not going to be installed or
libc-dev
E: Broken packages

The current image is a mixture of lenny and squeeze packages. Your errors seem to indicate that you should activate squeeze in $CHROOT/etc/apt/sources.list. See the messages above for how to do that.
