Download the files from http://jacekowski.org/maemo/
Then upload them to some folder. (eg. /home/user/MyDocs/.documents/)
u need to install rootsh and then continue.
search for rootsh and install.
then open xterm
type sudo gainroot
then dpkg -i /home/user/MyDocs/.documents/libxss..... whatever
then dpkg -i /home/user/MyDocs/.documents/chromi...

and then you have a chromium icon in your menu

and people its optified.

You can try to use libxss from extras-devel ( dependencies are probably broken, but package will work with some --force )

How is the battery life when using chrome on the N900?

I use chromium (64bit, Linux) almost exclusively on my desktop and laptop. However, I recently noticed that it causes an insane number of wakeups/second so I reverted back to firefox when running my laptop on battery (the power consumption is several W higher when using chromium).

by the way, how do you uninstall this just in case? the app manager says it's 0 kb. will it remove everything related to the chrome?

Battery life is fine, same battery usage as microB, but device gets a bit warm while browsing.
