There's one for the N97 but not this phone; how amazing. So is there one for this phone?

Try the QStarDict app. Download through N900 App Manager.

Yeah but isn't that a translator of some sort? I checked it out and really disliked the way it looks and feels

I use it as a dictionary. After installing you need to download a dictionary to use with it. Mine works well.

MStarDic has a more accessible interface, IMO. Yes, there are lots of bona fide English dictionaries available - I have several loaded up at once.

Ed. It seems that the links I had posted to repositories of dictionary files for the stardict platform in this thread here

have all been removed! I guess someone had posted files to the Sourceforge servers that they didn't have permission to...

However, if you look around, there exists a publicly available torrent that contains all those dictionaries that used to be on the Sourceforge site, but got deleted.
