Hi,

As I said in previous post, while trying to install microb, and apply other upgrades, I got to a point where my N800 reboot but never reach the GUI state . This issue is most probably around the libpango1.0-common package. If I try to remove this package, it will also remove dependency for about 72M. I look at the apt-get and dpkg command to see if there is any way to force package reinstall but haven't found anything. Is it possible ???

Thank you

dpkg -i package.deb should work. dpkg -i --force-downgrade package.deb if you're trying to get an earlier version.
Good luck!

This end up to another question. How could I know from which repository the package come from, so I could download it. I try to look on my system for a deb package without success.

What I specifically looking for is libpango1.0-common package

Thank

apt-cache policy libpango1.0-common

apt-cache --help will let you in on lots of good info, and apt-cache search is indispensable (for me at least).

I haven't tried this on the N800 (only on desktop), but apt-get install -d <package> should only download, not install. Then you can dpkg -i from /var/cache/apt/archives/ IIRC.
