Hi guys

I got a bit of a problem. I don't get any sound through my headphones when I plug em in, instead the sound either comes out through the speaker or if by some miracle it does come out through the headphones the sound is really soft. I am not entirely sure what the problem is so any help is appreciated.

This has happened to me only once. And my guess is that it was some sort of a software glitch.

Have you ever been able to listen anything clearly through the headphones only? If not, then it's possible that it is a hardware fault and you should seek some kind of support from Nokia. Otherwise it can be something you have installed to your phone.

If you look into the headphone slot or whatever it's called, you will se 2 gold like metal pieces. One of them transfers some of the sound and the other is a button with the N900 uses to recognise the headphones... Try with a needle or something similar and pull the button a little bit down so it will be easier for it to establish contact with the headphone plug. At least this worked for me

Mine didnt recognise the headphones either... or sometimes it did... sometimes it didnt... it was especially when I was walking that it kept loosing the connection so the sound started to sort of stutter... But then I noticed that if I slightly pressed the minijack towards that button... then the sound came back, and it dissapeared again when I stopped pressing... Hope it helps
