I think you cannot PM until you have a few more posts and/or time on the forums.

I am not with Rogers anymore, and last person I helped setting up goam was unsuccessful.

WIND all the way

The Wind data plan is a work in progress. $35 per month no cap, but they will throttle you after 5 Gb. Some port blocking going on. In all, its been a good experience. Working through some of the data issues right now with them.

I hate the word "unlimited" anyway, because there's no such thing and if a company uses a fictional concept like "unlimited data", I wonder how true the rest of their marketing is.

For the small amount of time that I'm away from WiFi, I would love to have 3G, but I can be careful and just stay under the 500MB cap that Fido imposes.

If Skype/VoIP calling is possible over 3G, I might have to re-evaluate my stance, but I can't even use 200MB a month surfing the web and chatting on IM and IRC for a couple hours a day.
Fido does not offer 3G connectivity for the AWS frequencies that the N900 requires; you'll be using EDGE if you're with them. Doesn't anyone remember that Videotron and Wind are the AWS carriers in Canada?

According to Nokia, via Wind Mobile, the N900 will not be offered in Canada. Reports are that US models in Canada have no warranty.

Who would like to buy an n900? original box, no scratches, screen protector, original batt / cables etc. Pm me an offer if you're interested!

Thanks.

US models in Canada DO have a warranty but they must be shipped to the US service depot and you have to pay for shipping BOTH ways. I bought my N97 from the US and it is such a POS it had to be sent in for repairs twice under warranty and I only had to pay shipping. To get an RMA you have to call Nokia USA.

What about if I buy one via newegg.ca? If it breaks, would I have to send it to the states?

You sure would. You'd have to setup an intermediary location in the US though.

My friend bought one from newegg a month ago. It did break, he could send it to newegg because it was 29 days exactly. Yes you ship to USA, but it's no trouble. They sent a new one back to him. Great service.
