- Better Camera
- Can add additional memory
- Open Source
- Bluetooth files.
- Its not owned by apple
- The phone contracts were not set to a standard rate for all networks so had more flexibility over minutes & texts etc.
- Its not an iPhone
- HW Keyboard
- Linux OS
- Just plug n900 and use like hard disk
- Higher resolution
- SSH

Over 100MB of free space in root. Nice.

This is so true, haha

I agree with that too...

And since I work for rogers supporting those poor excuses for high technology we call iPhones, I'm quite comfortable with my N900.

I believe you can SSH on the iPhone too. Though I'm not sure if that's only iPhone -> PC/Server/Laptop. Not sure if you can actually access/control the iPhone from SSH without jailbreaking it (unlikely given Apple's control)

Im running at 900 mhz and can tell you the phone gets uncomfortable hot when running the CPU at 100% for 5~10 minutes

And by the way how many times do everyone needs to tell you guys that the next update will NOT start with 10.2010.xxx

That would mean nokia skips 6 updates.

Since then I am very happy that I choose N900 over iPhone.
I btw haven't used my ipod nano since I got my N900. And I felt guilt when I gave the nano to my little sister: she didn't have iTunes at her computer...

SSH in iPhone (have to JB) is a pain.

Apple is the most restricted and limited phone. It does not quality as smartphone in technical terms, but may qualify for simple users. The phone is very easy to use and friendly for simple users, but they don't have options for advance features.
To put it simple, imagine given only "GUEST" account on your windows or a very limited/controlled account, which only allow you to do very little things.

Simply put, for intermediate and above users, non-JB iPhones are basically useless, it works just like a normal phone which is able to install apps/games. That's ALL. But it work great as a phone, the OS is stable, smooth and slick transition/animation.
It's very simple, no homescreen/desktop (aka the phone has less work to do), no widgets, etc. It's like a phone specially designed for very simple users in mind, which is good, because anybody can pickup easily and fast, but the problem is, there is no options for advance feature or more options. People cannot upgrade/improve themselves, when they get a more complicated device, they maybe lost and only know how to be use the simplified version.

Btw, iPhone comes with only single speaker too. OMG, this is so wrong, it reminds me of my 1st Nokia smartphone. I so hate the single speaker that I actually think about accessing the hardware to change the speaker. When I heard my colleagues iPhone ringtone ringing, it's so darn annoying. I mean, it's Apple, it's suppose to have and concentrate on MUSIC! Ouch! And don't try to protect iPhones on this, the fact is a fact, they only have single speaker and it's just so not right.

Lastly, iPhone 3GS 32GB at my country cost almost triple the price of iPod Touch 3G 32GB. It's just so wrong, the iPhone just comes with what? Calls and 3M camera? For the iPhone 3GS 32GB, I can almost buy myself 3 unit of iPod Touch 3GS 32GB.
I made myself another better offer.... I buy myself the N900 and I buy myself the iPod Touch 3G 32GB, it's around the same price of iPhone 3GS 32GB! And I can now enjoy both worlds.
For iPhone/iPod Touch, what I wanted was actually just the apps/games. Other than that, I don't find anything that's appealing anymore.
