Hey Guys,

I've been using the N900 for over few months now...and I totally love it..

I've just got few suggestions in how to make it better...feel free to share your views too

Suggestion 1: In dash board, allow the option to arrange the open apps simply by drag and drop

Eg. I have 3 apps open ... Web, Pidjin and Notes.... I drag notes b/w Web and pidjin and now the order is Web, Notes and Pidjin.

Suggestion 2: I'm not sure if this has been addressed to here already...but anyways...while scrolling on a webpage the fps of scroll should be increase and also lines per scroll should be increased depending on the flick of the finger. This will improve browsing experience massively.

Suggestion 3: Include an option to change the Slide to unlock screen officially, that way we can set it to our usual wallpaper and it looks consistent be it what ever theme you are using.

This is all I could think of now.

Let me know what you guys think of. I'll add more if I think of anything more and you guys feel free to share too

Cheers
Jackie

Another suggestion I thought was that to add the option of a device wide search, that way the user can find email, SMS, music or any document.

Come on guys, we need more suggestions...

Lets make this the best device there ever was.

Cheers
Jackie

PS: I wasn't able to edit the above post for some reason hence had to make another one.

I'd like to suggest that the N900 scratch my back and do my taxes.

And it should play PS3 games at least.

Hmmmm..... Something's wrong. I clearly suggested great improvements to the N900 in my effort to make it the best device that I can but somehow nothing happened.

Should I suggest harder?

@ cddiede what is wrong with ideas? he isnt demanding or forcing anyone to do anything. He has some good points, some of which we would all like (e.g.. Search).

No need to be sarcastic. A lot of new users here (including me) were welcomed with our noob'ish questions and approach to 'talk' but its how we learn and then contribute.

Anyway, really dont think we need to act like this.

I apologize, Cranky this morning.

I would like to direct some of this positive noob energy to the many existing project and brainstorms in the Maemo Community.

If non-developers want to contribute, then donate some PayPal to your favorite app author, jump in on the brainstorm sessions, open a bug over at bugs.maemo.org, go vote for an application to be elevated out of testing and into extras.

What I'm trying to say is that nothing is gained just by wishful thinking, but there are lots of ways that we can pitch in to help add features and polish to Maemo5.

Agreed. I've done all of those things (almost).

This is what is great about Maemo. I have yet to see another united community like this. What we lack are designers from what i've seen.
I'm in the process of setting up an online design service where i'll be offering my services to developers here. As my day job doesnt allow this just yet, i dont mind doing a few small things here and there.

So if anyone needs logos, icons, basic interfaces designed I can offer my help.

Exactly what I was doing, first reviewing my idea then if they seem feasible I'd shift them to brainstorm and I'd like others also to contribute, so guys feel free

and @afaq thank you for your support

I'll jump in on the design bandwagon too - experience in both Photoshop and Illustrator, been working them for the past 6 years with Photoshop being my fave tool of the trade.

Anyone want anything for an app / widget. let me know.....

@afaq - love your work man.... Nice slick webby too

Agree wholeheartedly with the search function. As stated, got previous with Ps and Ai but know nothing of coding.

An app showing basic coding skills in X-Term (command strings, structure of commands, etc) would be a Godsend for me, as I am not a Linux user and know nothing of Open Source coding.... Xp / W7 for me (no flaming please)

Thanks mate. needs a lot more work on it but its a start.

I think an app (or visual method) to display basic xterminal commands etc will be interesting and def very helpful for the non linux literate.

There is a wiki entry somewhere which had a command list..cant remember where though.
