the snapdragon runs 3d games fine and it easily runs ps1 full speed

just look through youtube

i would run some of the games but alot of them would probably use multi touch so that would have to be emulated somehow too

I think you have to have the specific Davlink JM or whatever it's called. Not just java..

The snapdragon in rough terms combines the CPU + GPU (I personally think Intel Integrated Graphics). While the N900 separates the GPU. The problem is to use the GPU requires you to use OpenGLS ES or something like that and most of the programs written so far (like the PSX emulator) are ports that weren't written for OpenGLS ES. Thus it uses the CPU more and little of the dedicated GPU (if I have it correct).

you do have it correct alot of software like psx4all doesnt use the gpu at the minute and things will improove when they do use it however look at them videos and tell me the snapdragon doesnt perform well and cant run 3d games :-)

iam not comparing the processors i persoally think they perform around the same all iam saying is the snapdragon can run 3d games and can also run things like ps1 emulators flawlessly :-)

both processors are very good for mobile phones :-) the hummingbird will be even better :-) 3x the performance of the snapdragon

heres a good link and good read

http://androidandme.com/2010/03/news...of-snapdragon/

taken from above

* Motorola Droid: TI OMAP3430 with PowerVR SGX530 = 7-14 million(?) triangles/sec
* Nexus One: Qualcomm QSD8×50 with Adreno 200 = 22 million triangles/sec
* iPhone 3G S: 600 MHz Cortex-A8 with PowerVR SGX535 = 28 million triangles/sec
* Samsung Galaxy S: S5PC110 with PowerVR SGX540 = 90 million triangles/sec

when you think the n900 runs a chipset like the droid then the snapdragon clearly beats it :-) and isnt the iphone underclocked yet still beating the snapdragon???

They tried selling him the N900.......
The phone is being mis sold no **** sherlock, look at the reviews many are comparing it to the iphoney when in reality they are very different devices.
So you can imagine what your average retailer will say re the n900.
