Yes it deleted all the versions of the bibles without any notification that it was about to do that

I'll look into this as well. Were you downloading bibles over wifi or 3G? I'm guessing that high latency was causing this.
Downloaded using both 3G and wifi. It gives the error message also when there is another activity going on like an sms arriving.

I agree that an about page would be a good idea. I wish I had time to set up a website - I'm hesitant to link to this forum, since I hope that Katana will have a life beyond Maemo (i.e. MeeGo.) We'll see.
That is nice and looking forward to the website and moving Katana to other platforms

Does anyone know about importing non-free versions to into Katana? I'm interested in getting the NLT version. It's $15 at ESword, but I don't want to buy it on my home PC, then find that I can only use it there.
Yes, would it be possible to somehow be able to install paid versions? I would like to install the NIV plus the NKJV.

Thanks for your work Josh. Great stuff.

Besides battery life, is there an argument for this? My main objection is that it's Yet Another Setting.
There is an adittional reason, as someone whose eyesight is slowly getting worse I think it is easier on the eyes to read white on black.

Text should be printed with the highest possible contrast. There is good evidence that for many readers who are older or partially sighted, light (white or light yellow) letters on a dark (black) background are more readable than dark letters on a light background. However, the traditional dark on light may be aesthetically preferable.

I think I would agree with this so if it isn't too much trouble would like to be able to use it in this way which should be a little easier on the eyes.

There is another argument here about the idea that themes should control color/contrasts... it would be an additional feature, and probably not difficult, but we are probably nearing the point in the development of Katana that all feature suggestions should be grouped together so that some priority to them could be made, and then an approach to developing them would be better utilized by those developing.

Steve
This is primarily an issue of licensing/permission rather than technical difficulty. I've emailed the e-Sword developer, but haven't received a response. For the moment, however, it's not possible.

So no one is planning to add the pretty simple white on black option? I didn't want that feature to save battery life--only to keep with the rest of my device's theme of white on black. Right now it sticks out.

Thanks for the good application. Though I have some problems.

Is there any possibility to change the charset encoding of Katana? Now with default settings Scandinavian letters are not shown correct. With Rapier those letters are OK.

Hello. I have been using Rapier and only installed Katana a few days ago. Much more finger friendly interface for selecting books.

After I first installed Katana, it would use the ESV stored on my device by Rapier. Now (and a few reboots later) it does not. When I open up Katana now, it immediately goes to the warning page to download translations. If I select "No", the program closes down. Is this a bug?

Secondly, is there a way or setting to allow Katana use the versions already downloaded by Rapier
