I have exactly the same problem. I have missed a few calls while the phone was in my (wide) coat pockets. What to do about this?

I have the same problem and tried looking through the DBus documentation for a way to shut off the acceleromter or at least slow it down but I couldn't figure it out.
Any ideas?

my N900 goes to silent mode when I flip it. the problem is happens sometimes that it's in my pocket. it goes to silent without any sound and even vibration, and I faced a lot of missed call and sms !
