Can't permanently delete favourites from Audio Player. Tap & hold gives option to remove but removal appears temporary. When next entering the favourites, removed items have returned.

Device is running latest OS (not 2007).

I have the exact same problem. I've had my N770 for about 2 days (couldn't pass it up, $129 @ Buy.com) and I do like it. Its a fantastic idea but so many weird little quirks like this. It seems absurd that you can edit the 'favourite' playlist but then it reverts right back to what it was. Nokia did a pretty poor job of testing. It seems that you can add streams just fine, but you can't edit or remove them through the interface.

Luckily it's Linux and you can work around just about anything. Here's what I figured out...

First, un-select the Audio applet so it does not appear on the home screen. Close the audio player, if open. Then, using MaemoEdit, open the 'favoruite' playlist from the Audio folder. You can edit the descriptions or delete entire streams here but be very careful. The first time I edited the file it threw the N770 into an endless boot-reboot cycle, and I had to reflash it. I believe the problem was that I had left the Audio applet on the home screen but I'm not 100% sure. Since then, I've always made sure that applet is closed and have not had any trouble editing and deleting streams. Back up your data first and understand that there might be some risk of needing to reformat/reflash if you edit this file.

Good luck!

Sounds like you haven't saved the favourites playlist after changes.

Playlist -> Save
