Hi,

This is my first post here, on my first day with a Nokia 770. I want to become root to be able to boot from card (bought a 2GB rsmmc), but I stumbled on the first hurdle. In this tutorial: http://maemo.org/community/wiki/HowTo_EASILY_BecomeRoot it says to find the Tools>Application manager>Tool>Application catalog.

The problem is, I can't find anything like this - all I have is an Application installer. I have the 5.2006.13-7 OS version. Please help. TIA.

Oh, BTW - when I click on a "Click to install" button on the maemo site my browser just dowloads the file with the "."install" extension, but doesn't do anything with it. When I click on the file in the FIle manager it says "unable to open file" or something like this.

OK, it didn't occur to me that the higher numbeer of my OS version didn't in fact mean it's a recent one... I'v updated to the newest 2006 version, and have managed to firnd the Aplication manager, and become root. However, I'm having trouble partitioning my 2GB Kingston Mobile MMC card. I keep getting the "not found" afteer hitting the return key after the "/dev/mmcblk0p1:1,15000,6". Any ideas? TIA.
