After I added folder full of my songs in n900,

I have no idea how to play only those songs in n900 Media player(without playing songs from other folders), or if anyone has the cool program or technique .... please let me know

You need to customize ~/.config/tracker/tracker.cfg to only check the folders you want to use. I can help you make a custom config if you tell me where you keep your movies, music and pics.

erm ... im really new to n900 O o

where do I have to customize that? and oh, the file is in my n900/song/hiphop

This depends on whether you only ever want to just play songs from that folder, or whether it's just a temporary thing. If the latter, changing the tracker config won't help. You'd be better tagging those files with a different genre, then creating a playlist by genre.

i would rather tag the genre, then.

ermmm do you have any techniques to tag them quickly? i have like a thousand of songs to do this.

Make a playlist on your computer, import that with the rest of your songs.

You really need to ditch folder-based organization of music and use metadata. Organizing by folders is a piss poor way of organizing things like music.

i put /media/mmc1/Games under # List of directory roots NOT to index and NOT to watch is that the correct spot to stop it from looking there? becuse its still showing the game sounds in media player. thanks

"your computer" can be the n900 itself. Then there is no need to import the playlist.

It works great for me. It is a easy as:

It works great for me. It is a easy as:

so we just rename of the folder to something.m3u or ..... what?
