Hi all, I'm new to this, so hope I'm posting in the right section!

I had few phone contacts on the desktop of my n900 for quick access and they disappeared 2 days ago. Not exactly sure what happened, and I may have installed another application before I noticed them gone, or it could have been my 2 year old getting hold of the phone for 5 minutes

Anyway, when I go to add a new contact to a desktop, it lets me select it, then flicks back to the desktop but contact doesn't appear and it is also gone from the list of contacts available for adding (seems like it adds it but hides in the background somehow ) Contacts are still accessible from Contact app.

Tried rebooting, tried changing the theme, not sure what else to try, or even which application could be causing it.

Any ideas?

Edited: I rebooted two more times since posting this, and all links appeared after the second reboot!
Not sure how to delete this thread, only allows me to modify the message

+1 I've experienced this as well. Based on observed pre-/post-conditions, this behavior seems to emerge when/via:
  1. Repeated Exchange Server connection failures causes device to loose Contacts, thus they vanish from Desktop
  2. A bug causes new Contacts to not appear on Desktop when selected to do so

Does that match your experience at all?

digittante, I'm not really sure when it happened exactly, so not sure if it matches your experience or not.

The only thing I know for sure is that the rebooting the device didn't sort the problem initially. It seems ok now.
