i have an N900 on three mobile uk. just recently the ability to download packet data over 3g / 3.5g is almost non existant even though i have a strong 3g signal. sometimes closing the connection and restarting it makes it work, but it never lasts for long. i dont remember it being this bad before.
does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem might be?

thanks
kevin

Have you tried to do the same on another mobile phone, or tried another carrier on your N900? From what I've heard, three has horrible reception, so it would be no surprise if that's the reason. I was very pleased using o2 while in London with my N900, very speedy network with great coverage.

Ah!, I am facing exactly the same problem with Three. I have logged a bug for it in bugzilla.

Cheers

is your 3g base station under a stress?

signal strength tells nothing about how crowded the network is. i sometimes get 0.5kb/s within 3.5g and full signal strength..... and 5 hours later I get the marketed speed without a problem

i saw a similar thread here the other day, something about 3 around london, maybe finding that thread could help, i think it was a problem with the 3 network not the device, i could be wrong tho

I don't have any issues with 3G over SingTel's networks... Sounds like either a congested network, or a bug.
