I was trying to set my 770 up to boot from the MMC, and despite it rebooting every now and again in the middle of the various steps all was going OK (partitioned the MMC card, installed the dual boot) was entering the "apt-get install tar" command when it rebooted again.

I went back into the terminal as root, and continued where I thought I had left off. All was going OK with the install, when I noticed it couldn't copy some files - I then realised it was because i hadn't mounted /opt and /floppy from the previous section - doh !

It now is stuck in a boot sequence (I can break out to the boot menu but neither flash nor MMC will boot)

help !!!!!!

phew ! sorted - Nokias update wizard allowed me to flash the ROM so I can go and break it again and again and again at my leisure...............
