my n900 has started to act weird a couple of days ago, the screen has gone completely bonkers as there seems to be no correspondence between the point of the screen that i touch and the point of the screen that is actually activated, e.g. i click on an icon at the bottom of the screen and another icon is actually triggered, or i click on "send" at the bottom of the screen and a random message at the centre of the screen is actually selected

when it's like that the device is basically unusable as i can't make phone calls, send messages or anything else

then suddenly it goes back to normal, then a few hours later it starts again and so on. Rebooting seems to have no effect whatsoever.

Do you think it's a hardware or software problem? i havent installed any application in the last couple of weeks so there's nothing obvious i can think of...

thinking of reflashing but i kinda wanted to avoid that so if anyone has any advice that would be much appreciated, thanks

The first step would be to go to the settings and recalibrate your screen...
