And no pun intended, either, right?

Same here. Happened the other day. Interestingly, I had the Flash game Dicewars running, which I've noticed occasionally screws up responsiveness.

It's not one of the widgets due to the command. It's the widget, itself. Removing them one by one will not fix the issue and you will not notice any changes until you remove them all.

It also happened to me a few times. Only short-cuts for contacts entries work. I have recently installed DECW - this could really be the culprit. Any solution apart from uninstalling DECW and rebooting?

Ok, Maybe you are right. But now I removed only two of them and I did a something like 14-15 calls (in/out) and nothing happens, my device is still without freezing of desktops.
In a usually way my desktops is freezing after 3-4 calls
I'll leave it the way it is, and see what happens tomorrow.

P.S.I removed the "free rootfs" and "boot count". And I have still the "Date", "Uptime" and "Battery".

I used to use "free rootfs" but I stopped using it a couple of weeks ago. I don't remember if I've had the desktop stick since then, I'll have to keep an eye on it.

Right now, my DECW widgets are:

Battery(%)
Battery(mAh)
Free RAM (custom)
Free Swap (custom)
Uptime

One time I made a widget to show the default gateway (was pretty complicated...used grep and awk IIRC and required rootsh) and that quite reliably caused the desktop to stick so I deleted it.

If you will get the freezing of desktop with this app, please report here.

Nothing on desktop worked (I only had preinstalled there), but I also have many emails in Exchange, maybe that was the problem? Tried to remove email folder and run the script in etc, but no luck. Did a normal http://wiki.maemo.org/Reflash , but still same problem. Then I made a backup of MyDocs to my PC and then did a http://wiki.maemo.org/Reflash#Flashi...MC_in_the_N900 , after that copied back cities and some few docs I wanted back. Finally the desktop works again...

For me, I would say MfE (Mail for Exchange, I use Exchange 2003 server) is the problem. All worked well after the reflash, untill I in MfE choose to change "syncronize 3 days" to "1 month back" (or something like 1 month, cant check as the N900 dont respond when Im trying to check the settings). After that the problems are back... Maybe I will try http://mfefolders.garage.maemo.org/

EDIT: And also the calendar in MfE can give similar problems: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...&page=122#1213 I got that problem right now and desktop froze again, fixed it with disabling calendar sync and doing a
rm /home/user/.calendar/calendard

its not only DECW since I have this issue also intermittently and I have never installed DECW as yet.

My widegets are
pedometer widget
fm transmitter
calendar (Nokia's)
and forecaweather.

thats all I have and I still get that icon unclickable issue.
