I can agree with tabs not being ideal with fingers, but I use the stylus all the time (fingers are only for emergency -- I _hate_ touching screens of any kind with fingers. There'll be finger prints, and as finger fat is slightly acidic it damages the screen (even glass) if not cleaned regularly). With the stylus I should think tabs would work fine. User-selectable, of course.

Why don't we borrow a page fom the iPhone's book and make the tab background transparent? That way, there isn't as much of a screen real estate impact with tabs.

Making the height user-sizable wouldn't hurt, either.

Well, now, I never said it wouldn't take up real estate-- but that's where toggling the view type would be beneficial, right?

Tabs are good. As it is now, when opening a link in a new window I want that new window to stay in the background. It's quite painfull and unproductive opening link in new window, and then having to press home button to switch back to the page I'm trying to read till its end. IMHO that's really the point of tabs, loading new pages in the background.
