Guys, what is the app or quick command line to check current AP name? and external IP address?

The status menu (prod the clock) tells you the current AP name.

For the IP address, you can install the "Personal IP Address" desktop widget, or open up terminal, and type /sbin/ifconfig

However what I need is the actual AP name not ssid name, and I think the widget you suggested is only to provide internal (within lan) ip. But thanks anyway

iwconfig wlan0 from xterm. Parse it using sed and awk, stick it in a desktop widget. Done.

Queen Beecon Widget has an internal tool/method to show "external" IP-address.
